We're Now Members of Jersey's Eco Active Business Network

We're pleased to confirm that Kiln Dried Logs Jersey is now a member of the Jersey Climate Eco Active Business Network, Jersey's environmental management scheme for local businesses.
What that means
Eco Active is run by the Government of Jersey to help businesses reduce their environmental impact — covering areas like energy use, waste reduction, and sustainable travel. Membership isn't a box-ticking exercise: it requires an annual return, reviewed and approved by the network each year, confirming we're actively managing our environmental footprint rather than just claiming to.
Why it matters to you
Firewood is already a sustainable heating choice when it's sourced and handled properly, but we wanted that to be backed up by more than just our word. Between our Woodsure Ready to Burn certification, our Jersey Chamber of Commerce membership, and now Eco Active, we're building a business that's independently accountable at every level — how we supply firewood, and how we operate day to day.
Getting the wood here
Our kiln dried logs are shipped in, so we're upfront about that — Jersey doesn't have the range & quantity of quality hardwoods or the kilns needed to produce properly dried, Ready to Burn firewood locally. But it's worth explaining how that shipping actually works: our logs travel on the daily scheduled ferry services that run to and from the island regardless, loaded on as and when there's space, behind essential freight like medical supplies and food. We're not commissioning extra sailings or dedicated freight just for firewood — we're filling capacity on journeys that are happening anyway.
On the road
Our delivery van is fully electric, and during the busy winter season it's covering 1000-1500 miles a month getting logs out across the island. Jersey's electricity supply is around 90%+ low-carbon (a mix of nuclear and renewables imported from France, plus local solar), so those delivery miles carry a genuinely small carbon footprint compared to a diesel or petrol van doing the same job.
Part of a bigger picture
It's been a genuinely busy stretch getting all of this in place — Woodsure certification, joining the Chamber, and now Eco Active. Each one adds another layer of scrutiny we've chosen to take on, rather than just claiming to be a responsible local supplier.
Thank you
Thanks, as always, for supporting a small, independent Jersey business that's serious about doing this properly — for the island and for the environment we all rely on.
