Running the London Marathon 2027 for Jersey Heart Support Group
Share
Some news that's a bit different from our usual firewood tips — on Sunday 25th April 2027, I'll be running the TCS London Marathon to raise money for Jersey Heart Support Group, a local charity that's close to my heart (quite literally).
Why Jersey Heart Support Group
The London Marathon is an event i've been wanting to do for some time. Training will be challenging alongside running Kiln Dried Logs Jersey during peak log season. But I wanted to take on a meaningful challenge to support this great local charity that do vital work supporting the rehabilitation of post cardiac patients & the management & maintenance of the only island wide Defibrillator network.
Like many people I've recently had close family & friends with heart issues resulting in major operations & ongoing care. Jersey Heart Support Group does incredible work supporting Islanders affected by heart disease and related conditions, providing practical and emotional support to patients and families right here in our community, and runs regular wellness events, including health checks, however this can only be maintained with support, volunteers and continued funding.
It felt like the right cause to put 26.2 miles of effort behind this winter.

A joint effort
In the lead up to the marathon, Kiln Dried Logs Jersey and Jersey Heart Support Group will be tagging and supporting each other across social media — so expect to see more from both of us as training (and fundraising) ramps up over the coming months.
Training starts now, and l’ll be at F.B fields this Sunday running the Spartans Hearty Half Marathon.
Thank you in advance to everyone who supports this — whether that's a donation, a share, or just a word of encouragement when you see me out training. Every bit helps, both the cause and keeps me going on the harder training runs.
If you find yourself in Gorey & fancy a nice drink or tasty bite to eat in front of a roaring open fire 🔥, head to The Moorings Hotel & Restaurant who have also been doing great work in conjunction with Jersey Heart Support Group recently:
